The Keys Of A successful Hair straightening
There are 2 keys for successful hair straightening: Keep away from the cheap hair straightener and hair straightening technique.
People always suffer with cheap hair straightener, it would makes the hair greasy or unkept or all over the place. I used some brands of the cheap hair straighteners for years and they are really junk!
Cheap hair straighteners are actually cheaply made. Usually, the paddles are just ceramic coated but not ceramic made. After straightened some times, the cheap hair straightener really drys out your hair. And a few months later, you will also notice that it doesn't heat up very well anymore. And the worst part is that they have a tendency to short out quickly. It also does not have temperature control. Don't waste your money. After experienced several expensive brands and found they have even heat, nice rounded corners, and clean easily.
I have tried many hair straighteners, including the $398 Bio Ionic, which was crap. It couldn't get my hair half as straight as my Sedu. I also tried my friend's Solia and loved it. They are both great hair straighteners and every one of my friends that owns a Chi after trying the Sedu, run to get one, or a Solia.
My other friend has an FHI which I have to say works pretty well, however I hear many people clomplaining that they break easily. And every time she wants me to do her hair, she wants me to do it with my Sedu.
Another key of a successful hair straightening is in the technique, it's very important. My suggestion is to follow the comb with the flat iron. Some hair straighteners make an attachment for their irons, but I have not tried them.
Here are the details: Section the hair, comb through the section with a regular comb, then take a slice and comb it. Slide the comb down the hair followed by the iron. All at the same time, making sure not to stop. Make sure to use a heat protector spray. Protects the hair and makes the "slide" easier.
Here is another method: Get a brush which looks like a double paddle brush. Take the section of hair, put it between the paddles, and slide the brush down, followed by the iron. It works great.
