1. Take a section about 2 cm thick and 5 cm wide.
2. Rotate using an upward motion to lift the roots from the scalp and give volume.
3. Run the smoother from the roots to the tips.

The best places for giving your roots volume are on the top of your head (3 or 4 sections) and at the short fringe.
