GHD Ceramic Hair Straightener

I actually have only had my hair straightners for 4 months i use them for certain occasions - nights out etc , i came to use them the other night and took them out of the box only to find that one of the plates has chipped i know i couldnt have done it as there stored in the box and when used are in a heat mat but i decided to contact the ghd firm only to be told it must be my fault and they say my warranty is void in future ill stick to cheap straightners

I totally agree they are the best straighteners about, they work wonders with my curly locks and make my hair completely straight. But..... Anyone who says they don't do any damage to your hair is wrong, they do less damage than most straighteners but they do do damage. To lessen the damage done to my hair I only use them every couple of weeks for when i'm going out. The only problem with the GHD straighteners is that they do lose power over time, i've had mine for 3 years and only using them occassionaly I am here on this website buying a new pair because mine aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be.!!! You've been warned - Still worth it though!

Without a doubt these are fantastic but contrary to those who suggest they are better for your hair than other straighteners they are not! You may not have to run them through your hair as much as cheaper pairs but that's because they are ten times as hot! Heat=damaged hair. My friend (hairdresser) reckons you should only use these once or twice a week max or within a year your hair will be dry and damaged - you've seen the results yourself, girls with hair that looks like perfectly straight straw that if you pulled on it hard enough would snap off.
