Amika curling iron

I only give this product 1 star because of the customer service. Do not buy from a mall kiosk. They are a total rip off. I usually stay away from those but they got me at a weak moment. I came home only to find the same irons on ebay for 50-75.00. I paid 150.00. I called customer service to see about a refund and they said I couldn't. I wasn't told this when I bought it. Buy on ebay. Not from Kiosk. Very sleazy way to do business!
They suck!

I was tricked into sitting at the amika kiosk! they pressure and pressure and i finally cracked and said sure. he straightened my hair with such ease. it was the best my hair ever looked! once spilling their pitch, i told them i didnt have the money. im only a student and didnt have $180 to waste! the "manager" took me into his "office" (a differnet portion of the kiosk) and continued to tell me since im a student i will get the "student discount" for $89. i thought i was getting a special deal until i looked on here and saw many other people got this "deal." The straightener is crap. and the salesmen dont care that it doesnt work. they just want your money!
Amika 1.5 inch flat iron

I bought my Amika flat iron at a kiosk in the Mall of America while on vacation. Before we left our house, I told my mom that while in Minniapolis, I wanted to maybe buy a new flat iron. Then when the lady from the kiosk asked if she could straighten my hair, I said of course! It worked really REALLY well! I was so impressed. She even curled my hair with it and it worked great. I've tried curling my hair with a curling iron, but it didn't work. The Amika worked! It was expensive: $160, but I think that it was well worth it!

I bought my Amika strightner last year for Christmas. Best strightner I ever owned. It was setting on my dresser and my dog knocked it down and the plate broke. I could not find the receipt to replace it, so I just bought another. I will NEVER use another brand of strighter. The key it to make sure you have the correct setting for your hair type.
pay too much at the mall

I too fell into the mall kiosk and was amazed. I have straight, fine hair, but was amazed at the curl it gave me. I had my daughter and niece with me. Niece has tight, natural curly hair. The iron works great. After 45 min., I bought one for $109. I would recommend, but just not at the mall kiosk. You can purchase 2 of them for the same price as one at the mall. What you don't get at the mall is this offer. Which until I use it is only as good as the paper it is written on... The mall vendor states they will give you 3 free hairdo's and a 5 year warranty vs. the 1 year manuf. My receipt does state the 5 year, so we'll see. I have the name of the company out of Memphis.

I just picked this up today. I was hesitate but I tried it out at the kiosk and it worked well.
I washed my hair earlier today and I was about to straighten it. Guess what? Wouldn't heat up past barely past 100! I could touch my hair without feeling any heat at all.
DO NOT BUY - worst $180 I ever spent.
