Amika 1-1/2 inch Hair Straightener

i got 2 straighteners for christmas this year, an amika and a chi....i couldnt take back the amika so i was stuck with it. they claim to be very good and they are expensive. the FIRST timei used it the handle wouldnt spring back up so it hurts my hand and is a pain to use so i'd wrather not even bother. get one from a salon or beuty supply store instead.this is a money grab company who dont care about the satisfaction of their customers.

my mom went to vagas and brought back this straitner and it worked realy good on my extremly curly hair..but two weeks after getting it it stopped heating up..and if it does heat up..its bin left on for about three to six hours..i either want anouther straitner or my moms money back

These straighteners are crap and deffiantly not worth the money i payed for them. they claim to even make your hair healthy with continued use but i feel this is a false claim. after only having my straighteners for 6 months the ceramic plates have chipped on almost every corner and so when i go to use them it catches and breaks my hair! do not purchase this product. i fear it is also going to take me a while to be eligible for an exchange despite their life long gurantee

I bought mine about a month ago and i'm not 100% happy with them, when i was in westfield shopping centre the guy had done my hair it looked perfect, straight and shiny, but when i do it, it looks dull. Maybe it is how i am with my hair but when i showed him how i straightened my hair he said 'dont hold the straightners so tight, there not cheap' i just dont get how they are better than GHD'S? as my tattoo ones only go up to 200 and i have ethnic hair. ghds and a good blowdry for my hair feels 10 times better than these.

I myself bought 2 AMIKA straightners one for each of my 2 teenage daughters for Christmas of 2008 andeven purchased the stands to ensur they were well cared for..Well cared fo didn't seem to matter as they were pooched within 3 months and to think I paid 600 with all taxes forbth and the stads for 3 months and then even with receipts the company woudn't exchange or refunmd..So,now they use my neighbors in the morning or a friends whom own CHI'S so when i can afford it you bet I willbe stopping by the local salon and purchae 2CHI'S cause I have heard ood things and seen the results..

I just bougth it and i thought i would look it because the people demostrating it made it look perfect. but its disappionting, i use it for curls and it hurts my head.

I've had one for about 6 months now and love it!! I've dropped it a lot and it hasn't broken, still in new condition so it's good quality. And it gets my hair really straight with a silky feel. I also really like the cute paterns it comes in, i have the leopard one. =) I'd recommend Amika!

i got this straightener for christmas and was waitingg soooo long for it so i get it and then use it, it usually takes me 2 1/2 hours to do my hair i thought i could do it in about 15 minnutes but instead it takes me around 1 and half with this straightener i expected more out of it but its a million times better than any ordinary one :)

I have tightly coiled natural ethnic hair, and the product worked excellent on me. if you are using the flat iron to curl you must get use to it; I'm still learning. This product made my hair straight enough and seem to remove the frizz that come from wearing my hair natural. I highly recommend this product to those who wear their hair as I do. I plan on buying the mini iron and the curler next. I will look into what they demo vs what is sold though as advised from previous reviews.
